Denver International Airport (DEN) is located in Denver, the capital city of Colorado. It is known as the “Gateway to the Rockies” and the majestic mountain range greets you on the Western side as you fly into the mile high city. DEN airport is large but feels more manageable than some of the busier airports across the country. Our favorite place to grab a bite to eat before takeoff is Root Down (a local Dever-ite favorite) in Terminal C, except for the view you’d never know you were in an airport! 1. Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center
The Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center is a fantastic family-friendly place to stay in Denver. It does not have an airport shuttle, but it’s worth it for us to stay at the resort when we’re traveling through DEN with our kids. There are multiple onsite restaurants, lots of kid-friendly activities, and a indoor/outdoor resort pool complex complete with lazy river and mountain views that make it easy to overlook the lack of a shuttle to DEN airport.
